A sample 7-day itinerary

Just a starting point — in Tripw the whole group adds ideas, votes and rearranges the days together.

  1. Day 1

    Athens: Plaka and sunset

Land, drop the bags and wander the lanes of Plaka. Sunset facing the Acropolis from Philopappos Hill or a rooftop bar.

  2. Day 2

    The Acropolis and Monastiraki

Up the Acropolis early, before the heat and the lines, then the museum. Monastiraki market in the afternoon and dinner in Psyrri.

  3. Day 3

    Ferry to Paros

About 3–4 hours from Piraeus. A first evening in Naoussa — a fishing harbor, cocktails and fresh fish.

  4. Day 4

    Paros and Antiparos

A small boat to Antiparos, beaches and coves, and back for sunset in Parikia.

  5. Day 5

    Naxos

A short ferry to Naxos. The old town, and sunset at the Portara gate.

  6. Day 6

    Beaches and mountain villages

A morning on Plaka and Agios Prokopios beaches, and an afternoon drive to the villages of Halki and Apeiranthos.

  7. Day 7

    Back to Athens and home

A ferry or a short flight back to Athens, and home from there.

Tips for traveling as a group

Book ferries ahead

In July and August the fast ferries fill up. Book for everyone together and keep the tickets in the trip, so each person can show theirs.

Leave room for the wind

The summer meltemi winds sometimes cancel ferries. Don't plan the last ferry for the day you fly home.

A car for every 4–5 people

Island buses are sparse. A few small cars are more flexible than one minibus, and easier to park.

Book a table at the taverna

For eight or more on summer evenings, book ahead. Order lots of plates for the middle — and one bill.

Questions

Which island is best for a group?

Paros and Naxos mix beaches, relaxed nightlife and fair prices. Mykonos is pricey and party-focused, Santorini romantic and crowded, and Crete is big enough for a whole week.

When should we go to Greece?

May–June and September–October: warm sea, fewer crowds and better prices. July–August is the hottest, busiest and most expensive.

How many islands fit in a week?

Two, three at most. Every transfer takes half a day, and a group moves slower than a couple.

How do we split the villa, the cars and the meals?

Log each payment when it happens and split it only between those who took part — not everyone rented a car or came to every meal. Tripw shows a few transfers at the end that settle everything.
