Tips for traveling as a group

Drive on the left

Cyprus drives on the left. Have one driver per car get used to it on quiet roads on the first day.

A minivan instead of two cars

For seven to nine people one minivan saves fuel, parking and coordination. Book early — there aren't many.

A private boat for the group

A boat to the Blue Lagoon from Ayia Napa or Latchi, with the price split between everyone — often better value than tickets on a group cruise.

Crossing to the north

Visiting the north means bringing passports, and a rental car usually needs separate insurance at the crossing. Check with the rental company first.

Questions

How many days do we need in Cyprus?

A long weekend of 3–4 days covers the coast, the mountains and one city. A week lets you add Paphos and the Akamas peninsula.

Where should a group stay?

A villa with a pool around Larnaca–Ayia Napa suits a weekend of beach and nightlife. For quiet and villages, choose Limassol or Paphos, plus a night in the mountains.

When is the best time to go to Cyprus?

Spring and autumn are especially pleasant. July–August is very hot; winter is quiet and cheap, sometimes with snow in the Troodos.

How do we handle paying for the villa up front?

One person books and pays, logs it in the trip and splits it by people or rooms. That way everyone knows what they owe before you even leave.
