Tips for traveling as a group
A driver and a minibus
In Georgia it's common and affordable to hire a driver with a minibus for day trips. Mountain roads are winding, and drivers know every stop.
Order less than you think
Portions are big and meant for sharing. Khachapuri, khinkali and salads for the middle — you can always order more.
Cash for the villages
Cards work almost everywhere in Tbilisi, but small wineries and villages prefer cash in lari.
Layers for the mountains
Kazbegi is colder than Tbilisi even in summer. Add it to the shared packing list so nobody forgets.
Plan it together in Tripw
One shared itinerary
Everyone sees the same plan, day by day — times, places and flights in one place.
Decide with polls
Restaurant or museum? Open a poll in the trip, let everyone vote and move on.
Split the expenses
Log who paid for what as you go, in any currency, and see who owes whom at the end.

Questions
Do Israelis need a visa for Georgia?
At the moment Israeli passport holders enter Georgia visa-free for long stays. Since 2024 travel health insurance is required — check the current rules before you fly.
When is the best time to visit Georgia?
Late spring and early autumn are pleasant in the city and the mountains, and September–October is also harvest season. In winter, Gudauri and Bakuriani are open for skiing.
Rent a car or hire a driver?
For a group, a driver. Driving in Georgia is demanding, and a driver with a minibus often costs less than several rental cars and fuel — and everyone gets to enjoy the view.
Is Georgia good for a family trip?
Very. Distances are short, the food goes down well with kids, and there are parks, cable cars and easy walks. Leave more downtime between drives.
