A group trip to Thailand

Buzzing Bangkok, the temples of the north and the islands of the south — Thailand is one of the most loved destinations for groups from Israel. There's something for everyone, prices are friendly, and it splits easily into city, nature and beach days.

A sample 7-day itinerary

Just a starting point — in Tripw the whole group adds ideas, votes and rearranges the days together.

  1. Day 1

    Bangkok: arrival and street food

Land, rest at the hotel and head to Chinatown (Yaowarat) in the evening — food stalls, markets and buzz. A great place to taste everything and share plates.

  2. Day 2

    Bangkok: temples and the river

The Grand Palace and Wat Pho in the morning, a boat on the Chao Phraya to Wat Arun, and a rooftop bar over the city at night.

  3. Day 3

    Fly to Chiang Mai

A short domestic flight north, a walk around the Old City temples, and the night market in the evening.

  4. Day 4

    Chiang Mai: elephants and cooking

A morning at an ethical elephant sanctuary (no riding), and a Thai cooking class for the whole group in the afternoon.

  5. Day 5

    Fly south: Krabi or Phuket

Fly to the coast, check into a hotel or a shared villa, and catch the first sunset over the sea.

  6. Day 6

    An island day by boat

A private boat for the group to the Phi Phi or Four Islands: snorkeling, bays and lagoons.

  7. Day 7

Beach, massage and a farewell dinner

A free day — Railay Beach, a Thai massage — and a festive dinner before the flight home.

Tips for traveling as a group

Book domestic flights early

On cheap domestic flights checked bags usually cost extra. Check everyone's baggage allowance in advance so nobody gets a surprise at the counter.

A private boat pays off for a group

From about six people, a private longtail often costs about the same as a group tour — and you set the pace and the stops.

Dress modestly for temples

Shoulders and knees covered at the palace and temples. Worth reminding everyone in the morning — or adding it as a task in the trip.

Cash and ride apps

Markets and stalls take cash, and in cities ride apps are easy. Log every shared expense as you go, and see who owes whom at the end.

Plan it together in Tripw

One shared itinerary

Everyone sees the same plan, day by day — times, places and flights in one place.

Decide with polls

Restaurant or museum? Open a poll in the trip, let everyone vote and move on.

Split the expenses

Log who paid for what as you go, in any currency, and see who owes whom at the end.

Questions

When is the best time for a group trip to Thailand?

November to February is drier and more pleasant across most of the country. March–May is very hot, and June–October is the rainy season — cheaper, but with tropical showers most days.

How many days does a group trip to Thailand need?

A week covers Bangkok, the north and one beach area. With 10–14 days you can add another island or more of the north without rushing.

Do Israelis need a visa for Thailand?

At the moment, Israeli passport holders can enter for a tourist stay without a visa in advance. The allowed length of stay and rules change from time to time — check the official sources before you fly, and make sure your passport is valid for at least six months.

How do you split costs on a group trip to Thailand?

The simplest way: whoever pays logs it right away, in baht, and marks who it's split between. In Tripw the conversion and the who-owes-whom math happen for you.
